Gary & Chatham
Gary is a true animal lover and does what he can while spending time in the Southern Grenadines, on and off throughout the year. He has this to say about a rescued dog from Chatham Bay on Union Island:
"She was two months old with a damaged hip, fleas, ticks, blood parasites and hungry when we brought her back to Palm Island in our boat. A few weeks later, after taking her twice up to Kingstown for shots and papers for export, we took her on Air Canada, in a carry on bag, back to our home near Calgary. The Canadian customs guy even welcomed her to Canada. We have two other dogs and live in the country and she is totally adjusted and a little spoiled. Her name is Chatham. She is now two years old, very healthy, and plays in the snow in the winter.
We have had a home on Palm Island for 19 years and have been trying to help neuter and spay and medicate some of the dogs. We are also very supportive of a number of regional SPCAs, as well as several wildlife rescue organizations."
